Scrapbook Page Holder Fall Challenge Entry
Whew! It's been a long day. I have been so busy. Just now getting a chance to post my blog.
I signed up for a challenge in a Facebook group I'm in called, Girls, Giggles, Glitter, and Glue. It can be anything using fall colors but nothing too small. Deadline is September 30.
I have been hoarding a Scrapbook Page Holder I purchased from Michael's a few years ago. Every since I saw a video on YouTube where this lady used it as a calendar stand, I wanted to do one also. It was so gorgeous!
I painted mine in yellows, reds, oranges, browns, and Tim Holtz stains, copper and silver. I painted the leaves and bird in red, orange, and yellow and used Stickles in gold and red on them. I also used red Stickles on the berries. It holds 8"x8" pages. I cut cardstock in different colors to fit the sleeves to coordinate with the months.
After an hour of searching for free calendar printables online in size 6"x6" with no luck, I decided to give up and wait till tomorrow. I might cave and buy the one I saw on Etsy. Definitely will save me a lot of time and a headache.
September is almost over but it's the month I'm starting with being the challenge ends on the 30th. I'm going to layer and decorate each month in colors and holiday embellishments that coordinates together.
Here's pics of what I've completed so far.
Thanks for reading and Happy Crafting!
XOXOXO
Spider Web Candle Along With Completed Spider Webs and Spooktacular Halloween Banner
Since I made spider webs yesterday with glue and glitter, I decided today to take a battery operated candle from the Dollar Tree and mod podge it with a spider web napkin which also came from the Dollar Tree. Mind you, all of this is in my stash.
Also, I completed the glitter glue spider webs. In hindsight, I would not use wax paper, it was a pain to peel off the spider webs. I had six spider webs but one of the orange spider webs didn't peel off the wax paper right. Instead of taking so much time with it, I just threw it away. I would use a piece of glass from a picture frame being it's easier to peel up the spider webs.
Also, if you use a spider web template from the Internet, you can lay it underneath the glass and just draw the glue on top of the glass. I am going to make some more being I liked the outcome.
Glitter Glue Spider Webs...SPOOKY! SPOOKY!
I made spider webs. I free handed (you can print templates to draw the glue on) the spider webs on wax paper with glue and then covered them completely with glitter. I used black, orange, purple, neon purple and neon green glitter.
I found this idea on Pinterest. But here's the link to the one I used, http://www.thriftyfun.com/Glitter-Glue-Spider-Webs.html. So brilliant and easy to do. Less than 15 minutes to do but need probably a day or two to air dry. I suppose you could use a heat gun or blow dryer to speed up the time. I tried drying with a blow dryer but after 5 minutes I found out it's going to take longer than that to dry the spider webs.
They can be used to put things on such as candles, drinks, bowls, hang them up, stick them on the windows, or use them in other Halloween projects you make.
I had fun making these and I know you will too. Here's some pics of the glitter I used, the before and after process and some close up pics.

Diy Washi Tape...
I wanted to make my own, so I went on YouTube. They have tons of diy washi tape videos of various methods. There's no specific video to reference back my method. I just watched multiple videos and decided to incorporate different ones in mine.
I chose autumn and Halloween as the theme. I made 10 different designs using watercolors, inks, and stamps. I use glitter glue to accent some of the designs. Each one measures approximately 24 inches in length.
You can make your own to use in scrapbooking, card making, decorating, and anything ranging from phone cases to furniture. Washi tape is so versatile and fun to make. You can use tissue paper, scrapbook paper, junk mail, magazines, newspapers, inks, stamps, and just about anything you have on hand to make and decorate your diy washi tape with.
Below is a list of supplies I used to make mine.
Supplies list:
1. Masking Tape 1 inch
2. Wax Paper
3. Inks ie. Stamping Inks
4. Stamps
5. Watercolor Pen
6. Glitter Glue
7. Heat Gun (aids with faster drying but not necessary)
8. 10 Toilet Paper Rolls (cut to 1 inch in width)
I leave you today with another easy peasy diy project you can make in less than 30 minutes. So I hope you have just as much fun making your washi tape as I did. Throw a diy washi tape party and invite your family and friends.

365 Blogging Challenge...
But remember, I live in California so we're in a drought and our grass is dead. It's been unseasonably hot this year but here in the Triple C (CCC), it's still not as hot as it is elsewhere in California.
Here's some pics of what September looks like at my house.
Even still, I just love everything about fall. The changing colors of the leaves, the crispness in the air, apple picking, back to school, and that all my favorite holidays are celebrated in the fall.
I'm itching to get my Halloween decorations made and put up. For some reason I'm having a hard time getting started. I'm motivated but maybe just not enough. Hopefully, after listening to some Halloween music on Pandora and watching Halloween videos on YouTube I'll be motivated enough to get started.
So in the coming days I'll blog about each of my projects and post pics so you can see what I'm making this year on a shoestring budget.
Also, as of today, I'm going to start the 365 Blogging Challenge. I'm very motivated and dedicated to complete the challenge. So please check back daily as I will have fresh, interesting and entertaining content for you to read.
So I say, "Goodbye August and Hello September!"
