October Daily Countdown to Halloween...YouTube Inspired!

Today starts the first day of my October daily and countdown to Halloween. Every year I watch YouTube videos of people doing their October daily and I say, "I wanna make one!" But everytime I say it, well that's all I do, because I never take the time to make one. Well this year is different. I might be running behind but that's not going to stop me from doing it.

I'm using a Graphic 45 black album. I decorated the front cover using Stickles, rhinestones and free printables from online. The paper collection I use is from halegrafx.com. The banner and all the other embellishments except the calendar came from cutedaisy.com.  They're actually for planners but this is also like an album/planner and they're so cute. The calendar came from, I'm sorry I don't remember but I found it by doing a Google search for Halloween advent calendars. The little circle embellishments which I will use to countdown on the cover calendar came from printabelle.com.

Also on cutedaisy.com  they have coordinating printable washi tape and stickers. The printables including the washi tape and stickers comes in either orange, green and purple designs. The stickers will look nice printed on photo paper. Washi tape will look nice printed on either cardstock or photo paper depending on the look you trying to achieve. Here's a pic of some of the printables so you get an idea.

You can find the same printables for Thanksgiving and Christmas and among other holidays also. There's a lot of free printables online but you just have to look for them. I recommend finding them either on Google or Pinterest.

I will be using all online printables for this October daily countdown to Halloween planner/album.

As the month progresses I will be posting the finished projects I've started and new ones I'll be starting. It's going to be a super busy month but I'm very much looking forward to it.

Here's pictures of the front and back covers of my album. I'm not finished by a long shot but once it's all done I'll post and let you see.

Hope it inspires you to make one so you and your family can look back years from down and enjoy all the memories you going to make this October.

Happy Crafting!

Spooky Halloweenie Bulletin Board For Sab's Spooky Space Challenge on YouTube!

Halloweenie time...well almost. I decorated my bulletin board for Sab's Spooky Space Challenge on YouTube.

The papers and embellishments I used or either free printables from online or Pinterest and from my stash. I want it to be spooky but fun and colorful at the same time.

I might end up switching it up but for right now I'm fine with it. I thought about a tree with a branch sticking out for the owls to sit on, some sayings and I don't know what else.

Anywho, I appreciate you taking the time to check out my blog. Please check back frequently as I am trying very hard to do the 365 blog challenge.

Here's some pics of my Halloween Bulletin board for Sab's Spooky Space Challenge on YouTube.  Also here's the link to the challenge https://youtu.be/r0_1FepTylo and please check out her other videos because she's really a fantastic crafter.

Scrapbook Calendar Page, September 2016...

September is nearing an end and autumn has just begun. With apple picking, burning fires, leaves changing and warm sweaters announcing fall has arrived and time for harvesting. I love all the warm colors of fall, the cool crisp evenings, the smell of burning fires and getting out the warm sweaters to wear while apple picking, the raking of leaves and everything else that comes along with the autumn season.

Hence the reason I painted my scrapbook page calendar holder in rich warm colors. I also started the calendar with September 2016.

I layered and matted the month on pattern paper and used stickers, cut outs and embellishments. I inked the edges in Tim Holtz Black Soot and used gold Stickles on some of the flowers and the "S" on September.

I will continue scrapbooking a month a day until I reach August 2017. I found the free calendar printables at http://www.imom.com/. I saved it as a PDF and resized it before I printed. I also went over the lines, dates and month with black ink to make it darker.

I only use what's in my stash and haven't bought anything new to craft with. I'm trying to use up a lot of my stuff before I buy anymore scrapbooking stuff. Also, being broke and on a budget keeps me on a shoestring budget.

I hope this or one of my projects inspires you to make something whether it be for the season, holidays or anything else of your choosing. Crafting is relaxing, fun and there's no right or wrong. Do whatever makes you happy.

On that note, I hope you have a wonderful day or night depending on where you live.

Happy Crafting!

Scrapbook Page Holder Fall Challenge Entry

Whew! It's been a long day. I have been so busy. Just now getting a chance to post my blog.

I signed up for a challenge in a Facebook group I'm in called, Girls, Giggles, Glitter, and Glue. It can be anything using fall colors but nothing too small. Deadline is September 30.

I have been hoarding a Scrapbook Page Holder I purchased from Michael's a few years ago. Every since I saw a video on YouTube where this lady used it as a calendar stand, I wanted to do one also. It was so gorgeous!

I painted mine in yellows, reds, oranges, browns, and Tim Holtz stains, copper and silver. I painted the leaves and bird in red, orange, and yellow and used Stickles in gold and red on them. I also used red Stickles on the berries. It holds 8"x8" pages. I cut cardstock in different colors to fit the sleeves to coordinate with the months.

After an hour of searching for free calendar printables online in size 6"x6" with no luck, I decided to give up and wait till tomorrow. I might cave and buy the one I saw on Etsy. Definitely will save me a lot of time and a headache.

September is almost over but it's the month I'm starting with being the challenge ends on the 30th.  I'm going to layer and decorate each month in colors and holiday embellishments that coordinates together.

Here's pics of what I've completed so far.

Thanks for reading and Happy Crafting!

Spider Web Candle Along With Completed Spider Webs and Spooktacular Halloween Banner

Time flies when you're having fun... Since I started this 365 Blog Challenge, I just don't know where the time goes. It seems like there's not enough time in the day to complete everything. I try to a new project everyday along with my household chores and splitting my time among my family, I barely find enough time just for myself. I'm not complaining because I'm really enjoying myself.

Since I made spider webs yesterday with glue and glitter, I decided today to take a battery operated candle from the Dollar Tree and mod podge it with a spider web napkin which also came from the Dollar Tree. Mind you, all of this is in my stash.

Also, I completed the glitter glue spider webs. In hindsight, I would not use wax paper, it was a pain to peel off the spider webs. I had six spider webs but one of the orange spider webs didn't peel off the wax paper right. Instead of taking so much time with it, I just threw it away. I would use a piece of glass from a picture frame being it's easier to peel up the spider webs.

Also, if you use a spider web template from the Internet, you can lay it underneath the glass and just draw the glue on top of the glass. I am going to make some more being I liked the outcome.

I showed all of them but my favorites are the orange and black spider webs. I'm hoping it will illuminate the spider webs on the candle once it's lit at night.

Lastly, I want to show you my finished Spooktacular Halloween Banner. I made some rosettes and hot glued them to the banner. I also put some red rhinestones for the skulls eyes and put some Studio G glitter glue in black on the spiders. I made do some more to it but right now I think it looks fine.

Above pic taken in dining room so you can see it better.

Above pic is my craft space and I think is where I'm going to hang the banner.

I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read my blog and Happy Crafting!

Glitter Glue Spider Webs...SPOOKY! SPOOKY!

I have another creative craft project for Sab's Spooky Space Challenge and also to decorate around the house.

I made spider webs.  I free handed (you can print templates to draw the glue on) the spider webs on wax paper with glue and then covered them completely with glitter. I used black, orange, purple, neon purple and neon green glitter.

I found this idea on Pinterest. But here's the link to the one I used, http://www.thriftyfun.com/Glitter-Glue-Spider-Webs.html. So brilliant and easy to do. Less than 15 minutes to do but need probably a day or two to air dry. I suppose you could use a heat gun or blow dryer to speed up the time. I tried drying with a blow dryer but after 5 minutes I found out it's going to take longer than that to dry the spider webs.

They can be used to put things on such as candles, drinks, bowls, hang them up, stick them on the windows, or use them in other Halloween projects you make.

I had fun making these and I know you will too. Here's some pics of the glitter I used, the before and after process and some close up pics.

Happy Crafting!

Spooktacular Halloween Banner For Sab's Spooky Space Challenge On YouTube

I know, I know, I know...I didn't make a blog post last night. Sometimes life just gets in the way. Had a lot going on yesterday and it was late, I was tired and fell asleep. But I'm here tonight posting late but at least I'm posting.

I'm going to participate in this Halloween challenge on YouTube. I follow Sabrina Ann and she's hosting Sab's Spooky Space Challenge. Her YouTube channel is https://www.youtube.com/user/craftychica87 and the link to the challenge is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0_1FepTylo. So check her out. She's so crafty and the challenge is going to be so much fun!

For starters I'm making a banner. It's a free printable from the Internet. The pendants measure 3 in. x 6 in. and the entire banner measure 60 inches. It says SPOOKTACULAR in colors purple, green, orange, black and white. I hot glued the pendants to a piece of black rick rack and tied different color ribbons and tulle in between the pendants.

I'm not finished with the banner but it's late, I'm tired and I'll show the finished banner either tomorrow or Monday.

I'm making all of my decorations and embellishments for the challenge. I'll be using what's in my stash and any free Halloween printables I can find on the Internet.

Gotta keep it frugal as we all know I'm on a shoestring budget. Hope it inspires you to make something for the holidays or if you don't celebrate, just make something, anything.

Happy Crafting!

XOXOXO

Handmade "Graphic 45" Pocket Size Travelers Notebooks Planners

Making and selling these traveler's notebook planners is not what I thought it will be. Hmmm? More time spent in the planning stage than...
